Building a tree of books with Mama Gcina Mhlophe
We had a wonderful evening on Friday with Mama Gcina Mhlophe, who told us amazing stories and entertained both children and adults. Mama Gcina even got the audience singing along in all eleven South African languages.
The St Peter’s families built a tree of books with books from their own bookshelves to support Mama Gcina’s project, Nozincwadi, which promotes literacy in South Africa.
Books were donated, stories were shared and everyone was enriched by the evening and the special time spent with friends and family.
