INTER-SCHOOLS ROBOTICS LEAGUE EVENT
On Wednesday, 13 March St Peter’s Girls Prep hosted an Inter-schools Robotics League event. 80 students from 10 schools attended. At the event the children from the different schools were mixed into pairs. This provided them with the opportunity to meet other people and learn new skills.
Each team had to complete two tasks. The students were required to program their LEGO EV3 Mindstorms to complete several tasks in a set period of time. The tasks required careful planning and problem-solving.
The students tackled each challenge with much enthusiasm and a great deal of fun was had by all. A Robotics event such as this, provides children with the opportunity to develop critical 21st century skills which include communication, creative thinking, resilience and collaboration. St Peter’s looks forward to hosting the next event in the Trinity Term.
