St Peter's Boys Prep - FLP Week Grade 3

This week, at St Peter’s Boys Prep, we are immersed in the Flexible Learning Programme (FLP). The first FLP week was introduced earlier this year when parents could not get their children to school due to the Witkoppen roadworks.  This round is however taking place at school, but includes all the aspects of a self-managed, interest driven programme that were identified as being valuable in the feedback received from last term. 

This week we are also celebrating the life of Mandela and our theme is "It is not about us and them, but all of us".  

So it seemed fitting that one of the Grade 3 projects was to produce Nelson Mandela mosaic artwork. It is impressive to see how the boys are working independently while researching for their speeches. The boys have also been busy creating bowls and totem poles in the art room. This is such an interesting programme that allows us to watch the children make their own academic choices, learn the art of planning and time management while having fun at the same time.
