St Peter's Boys Prep Gets to Experience High School
On Tuesday, 21 May, the Grade 5 boys and class teachers (Mrs Faul, Mr Clackworthy, Mr Steenberg, and Mr Vuso) spent the day at the College as part of the annual St Peter’s High School Experience Day.
Our experience began when we departed St Peter’s Boys Prep School on Buses at 08:30. We arrived at the College with much excitement and anticipation of what the day would hold. We were welcomed by a spectacular performance of Drumline in the MADDitoriom. A formal welcome by Mr Rui Morais, the Headmaster of the College, followed and the boys had the opportunity to ask him a few questions regarding what the College offers to the pupils.
We were then entertained by an energetic performance of a group of College boys known as The Barbershop. The highlight of this performance was seeing some 2018 Old Boys now in Grade 8.
Mr Dave Short who is the Sports Director at the College, gave a sports talk to the boys, followed by Mr Izak Botha who gave a talk on the Cultural programmes. Between these two talks was another amazing Hip-Hop dance performance.
The Grade 5s were divided into three groups for Physical Theatre and Visual Arts activities. They also played basketball, went into the state-of-the-art Resource Centre and Science labs, followed by some gym activities on the field.
It was a wonderful morning and it all went far too quickly and before we knew it we were back on the buses and the high school experience had come to an end… for the next two and a half years at least!
