ST PETER’S CYCLE CHALLENGE
An icy wind on Sunday morning didn’t deter the many enthusiastic cyclists who turned out to ride the St Peter’s Cycle Challenge on 24 July. (This was a second attempt at holding the event this year as the earlier date had been rained out)
The keen bikers assembled at the PWC Bike Park from where they rode either 3, 10 or 20 km distances. It was an extremely well organised occasion with Barry Detert playing the important role of announcer and event controller. Each batch of cyclists left after having their numbers recorded. The course involved riding through the park, to St Peter’s Prep and doing a tour of the school before heading back to the bike park to finish the course there. Marshals on bicycles, as well as those standing at key positions, were evident and thanks go to all those involved in ensuring a safe and successful ride for all competitors.
Medals and goodie bags were handed to each participant who completed the course! A fun, family day out - well done, to the PA, on another well-run event!
