St Peter's Ladies Lunch 2016
It was a lunch to end all lunches this past Saturday at Dodson Hall. Every second year the PA hosts a ladies lunch for the moms at the school. It is a FUNdraiser – with an emphasis on FUN – where Moms get to enjoy an afternoon with their girlfriends.
This year’s committee decided to garner a number of sponsors to make the day not only entertaining but extra special. The theme was Bright on White with a décor colour theme of lime green. The hall looked like a Grand White Party. Each table had vases filled with granny smith apples, with an apple leaf name tag pinned to a granny smith apple at each setting. The décor was sponsored by Hire Society of Kramerville - from the beautiful cutlery, to the vases, to the silver table number holders, to the lounge area outside. Hire Society has graciously offered a 10% discount to all ladies who place an order for décor hiring/events who reference St Peter’s Ladies Lunch. You can check out their website at www.hiresocietyevents.co.za.
Normally the Ladies Lunch maxes out at 250. This year there were 302 ladies in attendance, we are sure due to the main entertainment … Kahn Morbee, who brought along his band mate, Neil Pauw, from the Parlotones. It was a special treat, as most of you know, Kahn is currently one of the Judges on The Voice South Africa. Kahn and Neil spent time between sets chatting to the ladies and taking pictures. There was a long queue for pictures, but Kahn and Neil graciously posed for every last one! A big thanks to Helen Melville for organizing the entertainment and to Peter Wefelmeier for acting as Master of Ceremonies for the day.
The committee also organised a number of prizes sponsored by local businesses, including Griffiths & Griffiths, located in Kramerville, who sponsored two beautiful pieces of furniture from its new Country furniture range. They are even giving a 10% discount to all ladies who pop into the store and mention the St Peter’s Ladies Lunch! So be sure to go check out their new Country furniture range. The committee also organized a cheese and dessert table, sponsored by Fresh Catering, also of Kramerville, as well as a photo booth sponsored by Zoom Photography. Zoom also sponsored all the graphic design for the invitations, menus and tables. If you would like the contact details of any of the sponsors from the event, including those sponsors that donated prizes for the event, please contact the PA who would be happy to put you in contact with any of our generous sponsors.
The food for the event was catered by Sharon Rabilal and her amazing team at the school. They were instrumental in making it a special day by providing a delicious mezze platter followed by a gourmet salad and rare roast fillet. Sharon and her team worked tirelessly to make this a special event and the committee thanks Sharon and her team. There were also a number of volunteer Dads who waitered on the day so the Moms could relax and enjoy the event. A special thanks to the Dads. The committee would also like to thank Issac and his team who assisted with set up and clean up for the event, as well as the many volunteers that came through on Friday morning to help set up. Many hands make light work!
Finally, the co-chairs Helen Melville and Marcia Wefelmeier would like to thank all of the committee members who so generously gave of their time to this beautiful event. It would not have gone off without each one of these special ladies: Natalee Holmes, Sarah Baisley, Charmaine Basel, Sue Kevan, Ursula Ndhlovu, Melanie Madhumera and Nicole du Plooy.
