Overview
The strength of St Peter's College's co-curricular programme lies in the number of cultural and sporting disciplines offered. With over 30 co-curricular activities across the sport and cultural arenas, we have the opportunity to boast and celebrate many successes.
It is compulsory for Grade 8 and 9 students to participate in a sport and a cultural activity each term. Grade 10 to 12 students are required to participate in either a sport or a cultural activity each term.
- The Springboks often train at St Peter’s College and have been most complimentary about the quality of our fields and facilities. A number of international soccer teams also use our fields to train.
- We inaugarated our new hockey astroturf with and opening hockey tournament in May 2016.
- The 15th Annual Old Petrians Tournament, which is the largest and most prestigious open girls water polo tournament in South Africa, took place in February 2019 with 28 participating schools from all over South Africa, as well as from Zimbabwe.
- Our 16th Annual Sports and Cultural Festival happened in September 2019. 45 schools and 3,500 participants enjoy a myriad of sport and cultural activities.
- The Music, Art, Dance and Drama (MADD) Centre opened its doors in January 2015. This wonderful world-class facility has certainly added a different dimension to our Creative Arts Department.
- In 2022, we were privileged to officially open our Mathematics Centre. The centre includes 7 classrooms, as well as an office for staff members. The project has played a pivotal role in strengthening the learning experience of our students and has also assisted in accommodating the growth in students numbers at the college.
- In early 2023, we officially completed and opened our Indoor Sports Centre. We installed the most high-quality audio-visual equipment that enhances the atmosphere throughout the entire centre.
