Academics
St Peter’s College is a school for the future. A school should, at the very least, educate the mind and exercise the body. Many schools do this superbly, producing brilliant academics and talented athletes. Subjects
In order to attain a National Senior Certificate, students must study seven subjects. Four subjects are compulsory, and three are electives.

Please note: The College makes every effort to accommodate subject selections; however, some combinations may not be possible, and an alternative subject may need to be chosen.
Academic Support and Extension
St Peter’s College offers extra academic lessons in Mathematics and Afrikaans as part of the standard extracurricular timetable. There are no additional costs for these lessons. We encourage students to approach their subject teachers for assistance whenever needed – our teachers are always happy to support any student who shows a willingness to improve their results.
Technology can change the learning context from teacher-directed to student-centred activities, giving students more control of content, creating a more collaborative school culture and providing different ways of accessing information and communicating with people. Students are required to bring their own devices to school – laptop, smartphone, iPad, tablet or similar device. These devices are used to reference the internet for information and to log into our internal system, where students may access information, worksheets, homework and test results, and interact with their peers and teachers in a constructive and controlled way.
Across the board, most students still prefer paper-based textbooks. We source our textbooks from reliable local and international suppliers, ordered through our School Shop. E-textbooks are introduced where available and appropriate.
