Music, Art, Drama and Dance play a vital role in the development of confident, well-rounded young boys. At St Peter’s Prep, our Cultural Pillar inspires every boy to discover and develop his creativity through a wide variety of artistic experiences. These opportunities nurture imagination, discipline, confidence, collaboration and resilience while encouraging every boy to find his own unique voice.

From Grade 3 to Grade 7, every boy participates in our comprehensive Performing Arts programme through a rotational timetable, experiencing:

Dance
Drama
Music appreciation
Culinary activities
Instrumental music

Our instrumental programme introduces boys to a range of instruments, allowing them to experience different musical styles while developing technical skills and an appreciation for music. Instruments on offer include:

Violin, guitar, piano, cello, ukulele, marimba, percussion, djembe, flute, trumpet and trombone

These instruments are also available as individual tuition, allowing boys to further develop their skills and pursue a specific passion for music.

Music is at the heart of life at St Peter’s Prep. Our choir programme provides opportunities for boys of all ages and abilities to perform throughout the year. We are proud to have five choirs on campus, involving many of our boys:

Chaps Choir (Gr 0 – 2)
Cadet Choir (Gr 3 – 4)
Chapel Choir (Gr 5 – 7)
Chamber Choir (Gr 5 – 7)
FJC Vocal Ensemble (Gr 7 specialist choir)

Our choirs and instrumental ensembles perform regularly at school events, festivals and community engagements. Their uplifting and emotional performances have become a tradition and are possibly one of our best-kept secrets!

One of the highlights of the cultural calendar is our annual MADD Week (Music, Art, Drama and Dance). During this exciting week, the School sets aside the normal academic timetable as the entire school enjoys creative experiences. Boys participate in an exciting programme of workshops, performances, challenges and collaborative projects, competing in their Houses throughout the week. The campus is filled with joy and creative energy, making MADD Week one of the most anticipated events of the school year.

Our Cultural programme aims to develop accomplished performers, creative thinkers, compassionate collaborators and young men who have the confidence to contribute meaningfully to the world around them.
