Learning Areas (Gr 0–2)

Our curriculum is designed to support boys in developing essential skills while instilling a love for learning. Each aspect of our programme is guided by the St Peter’s Way, ensuring a balance of academic, emotional and physical growth. At St Peter’s, learning is an adventure – filled with hands-on activities, creativity and moments of joy every day.

Our curriculum covers all aspects of development, ensuring intentional focus on the following areas:

1. Growing Boys with Confidence, Kindness and Resilience

At St Peter’s, we believe that confident, kind and resilient boys are built through consistent values and strong relationships. Our values shape every interaction, creating a culture of belonging and respect where every boy feels seen and supported, and ready to thrive. Our classrooms embrace the Responsive Classroom approach – creating safe and engaging spaces where boys grow academically, socially and emotionally. This structured yet nurturing method strengthens our sense of community, encourages positive behaviour and ensures learning is developmentally appropriate for every child.

2. Life Skills

Developing curiosity and problem-solving skills

Through inquiry-based learning, boys explore real-world topics that spark their interest and drive discovery. They learn to ask meaningful questions, investigate concepts and reflect on their own thinking. Every topic is scaffolded across the grades, ensuring a variety of learning experiences. In addition to building critical thinking, boys develop time management skills and engage with science, technology, engineering and the arts in an integrated way.

3. Think Equal

Encouraging empathy, inclusion and social responsibility

This global education programme helps boys understand equality, respect and the importance of social justice. Through age-appropriate discussions and activities, boys learn that every individual is valued. The programme aims to eliminate discrimination and violence by replacing them with empathy, kindness and pro-social behaviour.

4. Conscious Discipline

Equipping boys with emotional intelligence and self-regulation skills

Through interactive activities and role-play, boys learn to navigate their emotions, express themselves and build strong relationships. Using the ‘Robot’ method – Stop, Name, Navigate – they develop the tools to manage challenges with confidence and empathy.
