At St Peter’s Girls Prep, creativity is at the heart of every day. Our cultural programme – offering art, drama, music and creative movement – is a vibrant space where curiosity and talent thrive.

Music is encouraged and celebrated, with opportunities for every grade. Grades 1 to 4 girls explore different instruments through a termly rotation of recorder, flute, clarinet and ukulele, discovering which musical experiences make their hearts sing. Grades 3 to 6 girls experience our state-of-the-art recording studio through a scaffolded technology curriculum. Grade 6s run sound and lighting for events and performances, while Grade 7s put on a full musical production and can choose to take music production as an extra-mural.

Girls are involved in marimba groups, a rock band, a guitar ensemble and an orchestra, as well as five dynamic choirs – from the Junior Prep Choir to the elite Grade 7 Legacy Group. There are endless ways to perform, collaborate and shine. With private instrumental lessons and early-morning Royal Schools of Music Theory classes, music at St Peter’s Prep is more than a subject – it is a feeling and a heartbeat in our School.
