Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

A term is measured not only by the results we achieve, but also by the people we become along the way.

This term has been marked by commitment, achievement and steady growth across our community. Our students have faced examinations, performances, fixtures, practical work and unfamiliar challenges with growing maturity. We have seen creativity, discipline, resilience and, most importantly, the willingness to support one another. These qualities matter just as much as marks on a page.

Returning to St Peter’s College as Executive Head has made this term particularly meaningful for me. I have been reminded once again that this is a community defined not only by its ambitions, but by its character: curious, courageous, compassionate and committed to doing things well.

As we come to the end of term, I encourage our students to take a moment to recognise their own progress. Rest is not a retreat from growth; it is part of it. May the holidays provide time to recover, reconnect with family and friends, and return ready for the opportunities and responsibilities of the term ahead.

Today, as we close the term, we say farewell to our Chaplain, Revd Kabelo Motlhakane, who has served the St Peter’s College community since January 2021. Over these five years, he has offered spiritual guidance, pastoral care and a calm, compassionate presence to our students, staff and families. His ministry has enriched the life of the College in ways both visible and quietly personal, and we are deeply grateful for all he has given. We wish him every blessing for the next chapter of his journey and hope he leaves knowing that he will always remain part of the St Peter’s College story.

As we look ahead, we are grateful that Revd Canon Trevor Prince will serve as interim Chaplain, providing continuity in the spiritual life of the College while arrangements for the future are made. We are also fortunate to have a dedicated team of educators who will continue delivering our Social Analytics programme, ensuring that students benefit from the same thoughtful guidance and high academic standards.

At the end of this term, we also bid farewell to two valued members of our teaching staff, Mrs Anja Gooijer and Mrs Nicolien Lehman, who have served the College with distinction during their time with us.

Mrs Gooijer has brought a wealth of experience, wisdom and genuine care to her role as our locum Life Sciences teacher, making a meaningful contribution to both our students and staff. Mrs Lehman, who has once again returned to St Peter’s College to support the Afrikaans Department during Mrs Donovan’s maternity leave, has demonstrated the professionalism, generosity and willingness to serve for which she is so well known.

We are deeply grateful to both Mrs Gooijer and Mrs Lehman for the positive impact they have made on our College community. We thank them sincerely for their commitment and service, and wish them every happiness and success in the journeys ahead. They will always be welcome members of the St Peter’s College family.

My sincere thanks to our students, staff, parents and guardians for the commitment, encouragement and partnership that continue to make St Peter’s College such a remarkable community. Each of you has played an important part in making this a purposeful and rewarding term.
